Without a doubt we are dedicated to keeping abreast of any developments. In particular, foreign travel advice and government guidance. Certainly, we are always prepared to respond to any changes that may affect your luxury tour or luxury yacht charter. In the event of any changes or disruptions, we will be in touch to advise you on your individual plans.
Specifically, stringent cleaning procedures are in-place across all charter yachts globally for the well-being of our guests. Without reservation these will be further enhanced to meet government guidelines in the UK and our luxury yacht charter destinations. These will include temperature checks before boarding; hand-sanitising stations in public areas; additional deep cleans of public areas including decks. With this in mind, each catamaran’s capacity at a maximum of 10 people including skipper and chef. That is to say guests can remain in catamaran bubbles during visits to vineyards and other on-shore activities. This applies to the luxury tour of the Aeolian Islands.
Consequently, SailSterling luxury tours and luxury yacht charters take place during times of the year when good weather is expected. Although, we cannot guarantee the course nature will take on the actual day of your luxury tour or yacht charter. Therefore, bad weather may impact your ability to experience your pre-determined luxury tour or yacht charter itinerary. The skipper and the crew will make every effort to make alternative suggestions and provide new solutions that aim to maximise your experience while on charter.
Thus, the skipper is the ultimate decision maker on whether it is safe to travel or not. Although you may feel that it is safe to travel, please bear in mind that the skipper’s decisions are always in the interest of your safety and that of the crew. Similarly, we prepare luxury tours and yacht charter itineraries, keeping in mind the need to add flexibility for unexpected changes. Therefore, the impact of bad weather or changes to your personal preferences in most cases are minimal.
Without a doubt, as long as the yacht is available for charter in the following week, you can of course extend your trip.
Basically, this is not a requirement. Although, we do recommend checking with your insurance company to clarify whether you have the right cover for our luxury tours or your luxury yacht charter. Without reservation, please do get in touch with us. should you require further clarification.
Luxury yacht Charter
Both luxury tours designed by SailSterling and luxury yacht charters organised by SailSterling are fully crewed.
The accompanying crew which vary in number, carry out all tasks associated with running the yacht during your luxury tour or luxury yacht charter. This includes but is not limited to maintaining the cleanliness of the yacht, food provisioning and preparation.
You will be provided with a charter preference sheet by us prior to your luxury yacht charter or luxury tour by SailSterling, this advises us on your individual preferences.
Your crew will ensure that anything requested or required by you is purchased with funds from the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). The APA covers food, beverages, fuel, mooring fees or any additional requests made by you.
On the luxury tours by SailSterling the APA is included as a service, therefore you will not have to worry about any running costs of the yacht.
On our luxury yacht charters we have included a 30% APA in the prices visible on our website, this is applicable to both per person and per week prices.
WiFi is included on almost all luxury yacht charters and luxury tours.
Please confirm with your network provider if they cover our charter destinations and whether you will incur any roaming charges when using your mobile phone.
Absolutely, this can be planned with your skipper while you are on a luxury yacht charter. You may decide to stay longer at a particular destination you very much enjoy. You may decide to leave out other destinations or include destinations that you may consider while underway. The skipper will be at hand to advise you on what is possible to ensure you maximise your experience on your luxury yacht charter.
No there is no minimum age for children on luxury yacht charters or luxury tours. Yachts are made with the intention to be a comfortable and safe environment for family holidays. A luxury yacht charter includes a wide range of activities such as water toys. A hostess can also help with minding the children and ensuring that they are having a good time, while the adults relax and unwind.

Aeolian Islands Luxury Tour
A cruise ship is like a floating hotel, with hundreds of rooms available to book. Our luxury tours are like floating villas, where you can either rent a cabin or the entire catamaran space.
There is frankly no comparison between a holiday on a cruise ship and a luxury small group charter experience. A luxury tour on a private yacht can accommodate only the guests you have invited to join you onboard.
Flights to Catania/Palermo and transfers to Capo D’Orlando are not included.
The conditions in September are tremendous. The air is warm without being overbearing and the sea is delightful to swim in. Quite often you’ll find a refreshing breeze blowing across the decks in the evening.
The Aeolian archipelago lends itself to island hopping and leisure sailing, for which catamarans are perfectly suited. The legs between the islands are extremely manageable, with line of sight navigation while underway. This means being able to see your next destination steadily come into view right from the outset. Our average sailing legs are around 3 hours per day – we always try to use the sails as much as possible to minimise our environmental impact.
It is very simple – guests can get involved in as much sailing as they wish. If that means taking the helm or helping out with the ropes during mooring, then your skipper would greatly appreciate it! But of course there is absolutely no requirement to do so.

Luxury Tour Catamarans
An exclusive charter is when you rent the entire space on one of the following Lagoon catamarans; 46, 50, 52F. You decide on who you invite and the number of guests on board. Our exclusive charters start from £34,650 per week.
The difference between the Lagoon 46, 50, 52 is the size and the living space on board. Each catamaran can comfortably host up to ten guests including your skipper and personal chef.
The number after “Lagoon” refers to the length of the catamaran in feet. For example; Lagoon 46 (46 feet).
The Master cabin is the largest stateroom aboard the catamaran.
The VIP cabin is the second-largest and second most luxurious cabin aboard the catamaran.
The crew cabins are in the front peaks of the catamaran and are accessible from outside.

Richard grew up in Munich, he has since lived and worked in Italy, Austria, and Switzerland, and in true European fashion, speaks three languages fluently. His previous experiences in the yacht charter industry have been vital in driving SailSterling’s development in all aspects of curating luxury tours and organising luxury yacht charters for clients from all over the world. His vision for luxury tours designed by SailSterling was to create a local yacht charter experience around culture, food and wine that attracts discerning travellers looking for the very best.
Richard knows what's important on a luxury yacht charter holiday and he’s determined that no stone be left unturned in our quest to deliver handpicked experiences on the luxury tours designed by SailSterling. Richard won’t talk to you about a charter destination that he hasn’t been to himself, so we’re very fortunate indeed that he has been to to all of the places where we offer luxury yacht charters. Kiran grew up in North Yorkshire, only a few miles from the famous seaside town of Whitby, from where Captain Cook set off on his famous voyage to Australia and beyond. Kiran has lived in Germany and Argentina and now looks after a wonderful mix of culturally diverse SailSterling clients. This exposure to all sorts of tastes and sensibilities has been instrumental to Kiran’s success in crafting some of SailSterling’s most sought-after tailored tours, including the brand new Wine & Catamaran Club tour to the Aeolian Islands, taking place next September.
Kiran is a proud member of the Royal Thames Yacht Club in London, where the SailSterling team like to entertain as often as they can. Like Richard, he is an RYA certified Day Skipper and cut his teeth in the North Sea and the Solent. Now he is itching to ditch the rain and cold of the UK to put his skills to the test in the South Pacific and the Caribbean, where he might just find a little more sun and sand too!
