We know what makes a good holiday

Who we are

The journey started way back in 2017, when Richard, Kiran and some friends went on their first sailing holiday to Croatia. They soon caught the bug, delighting in the unrivalled variety afforded by a holiday on the water. Waking up each day to a fresh sea breeze, deciding on the day’s itinerary over breakfast on deck and anchoring at night at whichever secluded bay looked most appealing, they soon realised that more of their friends needed to know about sailing holidays. Share the love! And so, the following year, they returned to sample more of the Mediterranean, this time with three sailing yachts full of feverish friends. Thus SailSterling was born and the vision was simple: to deliver memorable holidays at sea. We know what makes a great holiday and we certainly know how to have a good time! Join us on board so that we can show you just how fantastic a SailSterling holiday really is.

Richard grew up in Munich, he has since lived and worked in Italy, Austria, and Switzerland, and in true European fashion, speaks three languages fluently. His previous experiences in the yacht charter industry have been vital in driving SailSterling’s development in all aspects of curating luxury tours and organising luxury yacht charters for clients from all over the world. Richard knows what's important on a luxury yacht charter holiday and he’s determined that no stone be left unturned in our quest to deliver handpicked experiences on the luxury tours designed by SailSterling. Richard won’t talk to you about a charter destination that he hasn’t been to himself, so we’re very fortunate indeed that he has been to to all of the places where we offer luxury yacht charters. Of course, we at SailSterling would argue that our personally crafted luxury tours offer the ultimate charter experience, needless to say whatever your charter preferences, we can help in any way, so please do get in touch.

Kiran grew up in North Yorkshire, only a few miles from the famous seaside town of Whitby, from where Captain Cook set off on his famous voyage to Australia and beyond. Kiran has lived in Germany and Argentina and now looks after a wonderful mix of culturally diverse SailSterling clients. This exposure to all sorts of tastes and sensibilities has been instrumental to Kiran’s success in crafting some of SailSterling’s most sought-after tailored tours, including the brand new Wine & Catamaran Club tour to the Aeolian Islands, taking place taking place from August 2021.

Kiran is a proud member of the Royal Thames Yacht Club in London, where the SailSterling team like to entertain as often as they can. Like Richard, he is an RYA certified Day Skipper and cut his teeth in the North Sea and the Solent. Now he is itching to ditch the rain and cold of the UK to put his skills to the test in the South Pacific and the Caribbean, where he might just find a little more sun and sand too!

COVID RESPONSE

Stringent cleaning procedures are already in-place across all boats globally for the well-being of our crew and guests.  These will be further enhanced to meet government guidelines in the UK and Italy which are in place in July 2021 in relation to the COVID pandemic.  These will include temperature checks prior to boarding; hand-sanitising stations in public areas; additional deep cleans of public areas including decks; social distancing if required.  With each catamaran’s capacity at a maximum of 10 people including skipper and chef, if required in August, guests would remain in catamaran bubbles during visits to vineyards and other on-shore activities.
